Moveable Planters for Friarsgate
KBL was recently tasked with designing and building moveable planters for the Friarsgate project in Winchester—an exciting urban development. These planters provide a flexible and practical way to introduce greenery into the space while allowing for easy relocation using a forklift.

The planters have been planted with a mix of tree varieties, complemented by ground cover at the base to enhance the overall look. To support long-term tree health in an urban setting, we also incorporated direct root watering funnels, ensuring efficient irrigation and reducing maintenance needs, and cladded in wood to soften the aesthetic.
Before rolling out the full project, we built a prototype at our head office to test the concept, to refine the design.
The result is a versatile, well-designed, and a sustainable solution that brings greenery into an urban environment while allowing for flexibility in layout. Another great project completed by the KBL team!
